Every week or so I'll be featuring a product, service or business that I personally like and that can possibly help you in your fat burning/fat loss, health and fitness goals. Today is the second installment of "Coach Rollie Likes....." and I'm featuring a green tea drink. If you've been following my blog you know that I'm a big fan of green tea. I like green tea not only for it's metabolism boosting properties, but for the anti-oxidants and over all health benefits. The problem most people have with green tea is the taste. If you don't normally like the taste of green tea, try Lipton's Diet Green Tea with Citrus. It taste's pretty damn good and it's a nice alternative to hot tea, water, or diet sodas when you need to wash down your food with something flavored. If you know of a product, service or business that you like and feel it can help others in their fat burning/fat loss, health and fitness goals, feel free to e-mail m

Fat Burning, Weight Loss, Diet and Fitness Q&A of the Week-Fat Burner

Image
Every week I answer a question or questions that are sent in to me regarding fat burning, weight loss, diet, fitness and or the Fat X program. Today's question sent in by a myspace friend and was in regards to my diet and eating breakfast. Hey Coach, I've gone through the Fat X Program once already with only using a protein powder supplement and did really well. I lost about 10 lbs in 16 days and almost two inches off my stomach. I now want to try it while using maybe a fat burner and a protein powder and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks for your help. Rob As far as fat burners are concerned, there are two that I would recommend. One is a popular brand that has a mix of solid ingredients. It's called Lipo 6. I had Subject X use it during his Fat X project. The other is a green tea based fat burner and I would recommend that one because it contains green tea and the over all health benefits attributed to it's anti-oxidant co

Burning The Fat A Year in Review

Image
Over the last year I worked on a few public Fat X Projects. By public I mean I posted them here on Fat X 101. Just in case you missed the postings, I thought I would review these fat burning/fat loss projects so as to help answer a few common questions that I receive. Does the Fat X Program work? Will it help flatten my stomach? Can I use it to get a six pack? I also hope that that you are motivated to get started or to continue on a fat loss/fat burning and fitness journey. Each of these public projects where a bit different in the sense that I used subjects with different needs, fitness backgrounds and varying fitness levels.  My first public Fat X Project in 2009 was with Aleen. I decided to stretch out the program over five weeks. I had been getting several questions from people that could only workout out a few times a week and wondered if it would work over a longer period of time. I also wanted to use an older subject. Here are the results. My next Fat X Project was

Coach Rollie Likes: Nutrition 4 Less

I'm starting a new feature here on Fat X 101 called "Coach Rollie Likes....". Every week or so I'll be featuring a product, service or business that I personally like and that can possibly help you in your fat burning/fat loss, health and fitness goals. Today I'll be featuring Nutrition 4 Less, a supplement store located in Pasadena. A friend of mine turned be on to Nutrition 4 Less about a week ago. She told me that it had just opened and they had really good prices on supplements. Low on protein powder, I decided to check it out yesterday. The person that greeted me as I walked in the door was very personable and promptly asked me if I needed help. When I told him I came in to get some protein powder, he quickly pointed me in the right direction and also told me about a sale they had going. I was impressed by the value of the protein powder he told me about and decided to buy it.   My experience at Nutrition 4 Less was very pleasant and I would defin

Fat Burning, Weight Loss, Diet and Fitness Q&A of the Week-Tracking Fat Loss

Every week I answer a question or questions that are sent in to me regarding fat burning, weight loss, diet, fitness and or the Fat X program. I took last week off to but I'm back this week. Today's question was e-mailed in and was in regards to keeping track of fat loss/fat burning progress. Hi Coach, I'll be starting your fat burning program tomorrow and was wondering what the best way to keep track of my progress was. Should I weigh myself every day, every week? Thanks for your help. Linda There's a few ways I like to keep track of fat loss/fat burning progress. The first one is to take before pictures. After all, one of your goals is probably to look better or leaner. I would do this weekly. The other method of keeping track of progress that I prefer is to take measurements with a simple tape measure. It's quick, easy and will also give you a good idea of what's going on with your body fat. Lastly, I really don't like using a scale because it tend

Fight Ready Fat X Results

Image
After 12 days of Fat X workouts and trying to follow the Fat X diet, my brother, Subject Fight Ready is done with his fat loss project. His Fat X Project was successful not only because he lost weight, but because that weight was mostly fat loss and it looks like he also gained some muscle in the process. He is now close to where he wants to be as far as weight and fat percentage is concerned. He's going to work on losing another layer of fat to really get to where he needs to be in order for him to compete in another MMA event. I'm sure he'll get there soon. I'm also confident that once that next layer comes off he will have a visible six pack to show off this spring. As I mentioned before, along with the Fat X workouts, he was doing additional MMA training at the Fight Academy in Pasadena to sharpen his MMA skills. I've trained there myself and if you're looking for a good place to train MMA check it out. It's located at 61 West Valley Street, Pas

My FX Boot Camp Returns

Image
I'm happy to get the holidays over with and get my FX Boot Camp running again. If you're in the Pasadena area and want to join, feel free to contact me . coachrollie@gmail.com The FX Boot Camp utilizes the same exercise principles that have made the Fat X workout program successful. The only difference is that it is modified so as to be able to be done in a group environment. The FX Boot Camp classes are also a bit longer than the average Fat X workout because you're not working out 12 days in a row and therefore overtraining is not a problem. Even so, the classes are extremely structured and there is very little down time or filler exercises such as long distance running as in other boot camps. I only use the best of the best exercises, done in an optimal order for the best possibility of fat loss success.

Fight Ready Fat X Diet Journal Day 12

Image
My newest fat loss/fat burning Fat X Project came to a close yesterday. Code named Fight Ready Fat X because of my brother's goal to get close to his MMA fighting weight. It was a success!  He definitely burned off some fat, maintained and built some muscle, and most importantly used the Fat X Workout program to improve on his fitness level.   He also managed to keep a photo diet/meal journal through out the 12 days. Here is what he had on day 12.   He actually should have eaten more this day, but he was nervous about how the pictures would come out and only ate three times. Unfortunately, I think this had the opposite effect and probably slowed his metabolism, not good on the last day.

Fight Ready Fat X Diet Journal Day 11

Image
My brother's fat loss project, code named Fight Ready Fat X is officially complete. Well actually almost complete. He came in today for Fat X workout 12 and we will be taking after pictures tomorrow morning. Here is his diet for day 11. Suggestions A variety in food would be nice. Fish, lean steak, fruit, and berries would all have been good choices.

Fight Ready Fat X Diet Journal Day 10

Image
With Fat X workout 11 in the books and one workout left, Subject Fight Ready turned in his photo diet/meal journal for day 10. I must say, I'm not very happy with the meal choices for this day. I think it's lacking in vegetables, protein and it's a little high with the nuts. Nuts are high in fat and although they contain a good fat which can help your fat burning goals, too much is not good. Suggestions: More veggies and protein. This is where a protein supplement can come in handy.

Fight Ready Fat X Diet Journal Day 9

Image
Subject Fight Ready came in to complete Fat X workout 10 and turned in his photo diet journal for day 9. This fat loss Fat X Project is well on it's way to being a success. When it's all said in done he will have accomplished his goal of getting down to a fighting weight so he can compete in another MMA event. Suggestions: It looks good but I would like to see more variety with the vegetables and maybe some fruit and berries for added nutrition.

Fat Burning, Weight Loss, Diet and Fitness Q&A of the Week-Prioritize Sports Technique

Every week I answer a question or questions that are sent in to me regarding fat burning, weight loss, diet, fitness and or the Fat X program. I actually took a a couple of weeks off but I'm back to it and today's question was sent in by a myspace friend and was in regarding timing of the Fat X workouts when developing in a sport. Hey Coach, I'm trying to lose some fat and get more fit for baseball tryouts in a month or so and was wondering if it's better to do your workouts before or after I work on baseball drills. Danny When working on a specific sports skill or technique, you don't want to be tired because you run the risk of getting sloppy and end up developing bad habits or poor technique.   I would do the workouts after your baseball drills so that your prioritize technique development. You'll lose fat and get more fit either way, but you must remember that your number one goal is to get better at baseball and make the team. If you have any questi

Fight Ready Fat X Diet Journal Day 8

Image
A little late, but my brother a.k.a Subject Fight Ready has turned in his diet/meal photo journal for day 8 of the Fat X Program and his Fat X Project. Today's workout was day 9 of the Fat X Program, active rest, and he did an MMA workout. Suggestions: Chickens are gonna be real mad at him. His main source of protein has been chicken breasts. I would change that up, but he's comfortable with it and it's works well for him. Fight Ready Fat X Diet Journal Day 7

Image
My brother, a.k.a Subject Fight Ready has finished Fat X workout 8 and is reporting a big change in his waist line.   He told me today that pants he wore a couple of weeks ago are really loose. Looks like this Fat X Project is well on it's way to being a success. His goal of getting down to a good fighting weight and competing in another MMA fight is in sight. Here's his photo journal for what he ate yesterday. Burn fat, burn!! Suggestions: I would like to see him add a protein drink with the nuts since he is doing extra MMA training at The Fight Academy in Pasadena. Sample Fat Loss Diet Journal Day 6

My brother, a.k.a Subject Fight Ready came by this morning to complete Fat X fat burning workout 7, and also dropped off his photo diet journal for what he ate on day 6. We also took some update pictures to make sure that his fat loss/fat burning progress was on track. His Fat X Project is definitely going well. Here is the photo journal for meals on day 6. Six Pack Abs, Excuses and Motivation

Image
Just in time for some more New Year resolution motivation, my friend Richard has sent in his before and after pictures after using the Fat X Program.  Some people get the impression that the Fat X Program is just about losing fat and getting fit, and while it is that, it's much more.  It's also about eliminating excuses and pushing yourself to get to the next level no matter what your starting point is. As you can see in the pictures, Richard already had a flat stomach. He didn't stop there though, he pushed himself to get that much sought after six pack and definitely accomplished that goal.  Congrats Richard! And thanks for sending in the pictures. It motivates me and I hope that it motivates the FX'ers out there to eliminate excuses and get to the next level. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.  I want to help you succeed, because when you succeed, I succeed as a fitness coach.  E-mail Instagram Home Gym Recommendations   (Amazon Affiliate

Subjec Fight Ready's Fat Loss Diet Day 5

Image
My brother, a.k.a Subject Fight Ready completed Fat X workout 6 today and turned in his photo diet journal for day 5. It was another good day and I definitely confident that this Fat X Project will be a success, fat loss will be noticeable and he will get down close to his fighting weight so he can accomplish his goal of getting in another MMA fight. Suggestions: He mentioned to me that he was hungry towards the end of the night yesterday and I would have added some cucumber, avocado, celery and tomatoes to that meal in picture 4. There is also still room from fruit and some splurge food.

Fat Burning Fight Ready Fat X Diet Journal Day 4

Image
The Fight Ready Fat X fat loss project is back on track. My bro or code name Fight Ready FX finished Fat X workout 5 along with some MMA training today and emailed me his diet photo journal for day 4. With the New Year's celebration and shaky diet for that day behind him, here is how he recovered his diet on day 4. Suggestions: I would be bored with the green beans by now and would add in some variety with the vegetables.. Berries and fruit would be a good addition.

Fight Ready Fat X Diet Day 3

Image
I finally came up for a code name for my brother's fat burning Fat X Project. It's going to be Fight Ready Fat X since the goal is to get his weight down to his fighting weight, and prepare him for one more MMA competition/fight. The workouts have been going great, and the first two days of the diet were pretty good. I say first two days because yesterday was nothing to write home about, but was also expected since we were celebrating the New Year. I was actually confused when I received the e-mail with his diet photo journal. It only contained three pictures. Apparently those pictures along with some some nuts in the morning, appetizers and drinks that night (which he forgot to photograph) was all he had to eat. Not good! But, not horrible either. We still have most of the Fat X Program ahead of us. Suggestions: More Food!
