Fat Burning Exercise vs Fat Burning Program

There's been a long running debate and a lot written about fat burning exercises, but it's time to stop wasting time looking for that magic fat burning exercise and start on a path of finding the best fat burning method.  After all, losing fat, or "burning fat" as it's commonly referred to is the bottom line. 

Some people tend to use one exercise or exercise machine over another, because they believe it will burn more body fat, belly fat, thigh fat etc.  The truth is that the best way to burn fat, lose weight and achieve the "toned" body look with six pack abs, is to utilize the best exercises in an efficient muscle and metabolic stimulating method for a synergistic approach to fat loss.  

While it's true, that time, intensity, muscle groups used, and other factors come into play when calculating how much fat, or how many calories are being burned during a specific exercise, it is not true, that fat and calories burned during exercise is the only factor that comes into play in achieving a low body fat percentage, losing weight and getting the "toned" body look with six pack abs.  

Exercises, and exercise equipment are only tools.  These tools have to be used properly and systematically to achieve the best and most efficient fat burning and weight loss results.  Think of fat burning as building a house. Spark Your Metabolism With a Protein Bar

When it comes to burning fat, losing weight and or maintaining a low body fat percentage, building and maintaining muscle is of the utmost importance. Muscle increases your metabolism and burns more calories than fat tissue throughout the day. Unfortunately, most people do not consume enough protein to build and or maintain muscle, therefore their metabolism is not optimized to break down/burn fat.

One way to assure that you are getting enough protein in your diet, especially if your a busy person, is to have protein bars in your diet tool box.  Unfortunately, most protein bars either taste horrible, or do not have the right nutrient combination to be an effective addition to your fat burning or weight loss diet.

Eat Fat, Get Thin Part 2

In part 1 I discussed how most people don't get in enough good fat, EFA's (Essential Fatty Acids).  If you want to burn fat, lose weight and get fit, getting in these good fats is essential.  But why?

If you want your body to burn fat efficiently, then you need to have a healthy body.  A healthy body will burn fat better than a non-healthy body. Good fats or EFA's, help your body get and stay healthy.  

Just for starters, consuming fat helps your body absorb fat soluble vitamins like vitamin E, A and D.  Good fats help your skin, bones and also play a role in cell development.  Good fats, EFA's are also anti-inflammatory, have been shown to reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease.

Another big benefit of consuming good fats in your meals is that it will slow down the digestion of your meal, helping to keep your insulin levels stable throughout the day.  Keeping your insulin levels stable is highly important if you want to burn fat and lose weight efficiently.  

In part 1 I discussed how eating fish is a good way to get your good fats/EFA's.  Unfortunately it can get pricey, heat can take away some of the health benefits and not everyone likes fish.  Three easy ways to get in your good fats/EFA's is by adding avocado to your meals, eating nuts, or cooking with olive oil.   

One thing to keep in mind when adding good fats/EFA's to your diet is that fat contains nine calories per gram compared to four calories in a gram of carbohydrate and protein.  So you have to be careful when eating fish, avocado and nuts because the calories can pile up pretty quickly.
